This is a great blaster for back yard soakfests. It’s simple, durable, and easy to use. The kind of gun you could give to a small child and not have to worry about them having trouble using it, or breaking it.
The 240 was even a decent option as a side arm or scouting weapon during the few years after its initial release, having more field life than older XPs and much greater durability than the Max D line. More recently, however, Water Warriors has released similar sized blasters that have eclipsed the 240 in all areas of performance.
If you are still looking at adding an XP 240 to your arsenal you may want to consider a nozzle drill. With the 240 you can get a good ~3x nozzle by cutting off the orange nozzle cone and revealing the white nozzle pipe beneath. My team did this at Frozen Fury 2012.
