Review
The Gorgon was originally released as a hydropower (like CPS) model without much fanfair in 2010. It was essentially just a new mark of the old Water Warriors Orca. In 2011 BBT rereleased the Gorgon with air pressure tech. Nobody noticed. In 2012 the Gorgon was rereleased yet again and people in the community started picking them up. Wow, this gun is amazing. How did it fly under the radar for so long?
This is the second most powerful air pressure gun – ever. You’ve got 5 different nozzle options and great pc and reservoir capacity on top of that. The stock nozzle options are decent. I typically stick between the quad burst and the largest stream. The quad burst is possibly the best non stream nozzle I’ve ever used. You get a pretty good range and great soakage/spread without sacrificing shot time. The other 3 nozzles are pretty good for conserving ammo. I plan on drilling out the smallest nozzle into a 10x nozzle. Duxburian and the oncoming storm have already done this and its great for close range (30 ft or less) ambushes.
This is a solid gun, sometimes annoyingly so. What do I mean by that? Well, it’s a you know what to open up. Unfortunately, it’s highly recommended that you do open it up in order to clip the intake tube. This will greatly improve your pumps’ performance. It’s also solid like a brick, or a block of ice, or something else that can be rather clumsy and awkward to carry around. SEAL says it “handles like a cooler.” Buzz Bee Toys is notorious for often releasing quite unergonomical blasters, and the Gorgon is no exception. For what it’s worth, I still prefer the handling to that of the Vindicator, although I will admit that that is more of a personal preference than an absolute advantage.
It should be noted that the Gorgon dueled CPS 1000s and 4100s to a standstill and absolutely wrecked all other air pressure blasters (300 was not tested) at Duelfest. At Frozen Fury ’13 it crushed CPS 1200s in Outpost. If you are willing to put up with the awkwardness this is ultimately a gun that will take you far.
